Life Care Center of Athens, Tennessee, recently won the Business Development Award of Excellence for Life Care Centers of America’s Cumberland Region.

On Dec. 5, 2017, Life Care’s Eastern Division held a banquet at the company’s headquarters in Cleveland, Tennessee, bestowing honors on one skilled nursing and rehab facility per each of its five regions.

Life Care Center of Athens was nominated for its Building a Stronger Community campaign, focusing on events and activities to involve the community. Throughout the year, the center hosted the Athens Chamber Business Before Hours event, an emergency services professionals breakfast, super bingo for local seniors, a car show and a rock hunt for children.

“This year’s focus was to shift the general perception of the long-term care industry within our community from stagnant to a vibrant and beautiful skilled nursing facility that takes pride in helping people and changing lives in our community,” said Debbie Walden, director of business development at Life Care Center of Athens. “I was very excited and honored that we won!”
